(update) were in Niagara Falls!

Hey All,

Sam again reporting on our 2nd day in O' Canada. Let me apologize about a few things first of all. For some reason Blogger doesn't allow us to write captions for our pictures, so you'll have to deal with the Hodge podge of pictures below that will probably appear rather disconnected from one another. Also I meant to post earlier but the wireless here at the Peninsula Inn isn't that great.

Anyways, the beach today was pretty fun. Port Stanley is actually a quaint little town located right on Lake Erie. We both wished we allowed ourselves more time to fully enjoy it. The water was really cold but some people were actually swimming. It was enough for us to get our feet wet though. We walked along a long dirt path next to the water that had massive rocks right beside it. The sky was blue, and there was nice cool breeze. Overall, it was great weather to enjoy to the beach. Unfortunately, we almost immediately had to hit the road again to Niagara Falls.

The drive to Niagara Falls was about 3 hours total. I think we made pretty good time though. One thing I noticed is that Canadians have slower speed limits, on the big highways they usually don't follow it too well. We sped along pretty well at about 100kph or 65mph to Niagara falls. We didn't have too much trouble finding the hotel but we almost took a wrong exit which would have lead us into Buffalo and into U.S. Customs. I think we have both come to love our Atlas. I have never really used at an Atlas before this trip but so many times it has come to save us from getting lost.

Tonight we went to the Oh Canada Eh, Dinner Show. I'm not sure exactly how we did it but somehow we left for the theatre without the name of the establishment or the address, haha. We are both obviously Amateur travels. Though due to the wonder that is the Internet Mom was able to look up the address within a few minutes and we made it with a bit of time to spare.

Overall I think we were both disappointed in the show especially for the money we paid. It was very much a tourist trap that offered mediocre entertainment that was reminiscent of a show choir show but with less flash. The actors served our "5 course meal" while the show was taking place. They did a nice job of keeping things very timely but the food really wasn't all that great and they didn't offer as much as you would expect for a "5 course meal" It was also kind of awkward because we were seated at a table with other tourist and it was kind of claustrophobic for us to an extent. It was weird too because most of the people were older than us. The couple next to us was on Vacation from Long Island, New York. They gave us some advice on what to see in the Falls which was nice. The other annoyance which was notable was that although on our reservation we specifically mentioned that Kim was a Vegetarian, they claimed they weren't informed. Kim got Lasagna instead of Beef, and Veggie soup instead of Split Pea and ham but it was obvious that it was really just Campbell's and Stoffers. Tomorrow our goal will definitely be to attempt to dodge most of the overly expensive tourist traps. On a side note they did have some of the best Canadian Beer I have tasted. Something called Moosehead Lager.

Our hotel room is small but comfortable. My only complaints are the 5$ Internet Service which is rather shitty.

Tomorrow were off to see Niagara Falls and ride the Maid of the Mist which were both really excited to do.

PS. For some reason the time that it says we post our blogs is really off if you didn't notice. Not sure why.
